What is Anomia?

Anomia is the term used to indicate an abnormal difficulty retrieving words. It is the most common symptom of people with acquired disorders of language. Anomia can result from a disturbance in processing the sound of a word (phonology), the meaning of a word (semantics), or damaged connections between semantics and phonology.
